lockdown laughs - a poem

As lockdown lingered on my brain turned to mush and I began to see more and more strange things. Here are a few things I think I saw…

I think I saw a crossing wearing a hat

a shop-window dummy giving a bum a cheeky pat

I’m sure I saw dragon’s feet and my head in the sky

and even a penny farthing pass me by

I swear I saw the police rescue a man in a tub

and a heron on a roof giving his neck a quick scrub

I’m certain I saw a squashed duck on the ground, am I going insane?

Watch out for the giant bird! No, sorry, it’s a crane

I think I saw a tent on a roundabout and a swan showing me its arse

my lockdown laughs helped me realise - these crazy times pass
